Advent Sunday: Darkness to Light
This service marks the beginning of the Advent season, as distinct from Christmas, providing an opportunity to meditate upon the coming of Christ into a troubled world. The service begins in darkness with a single candle lit, and we hear and sing music and readings which remind us to look for his light in the darkness. 30 November 2025, 7pm in Christ Church, Radyr – please do join us.
NEW: Cafe Church
Come along to St. Catwg’s Church, Pentyrch on Thursday 27 November 2025 from 6:30 pm. We will begin with tea/coffee, cake and/or fruit and fellowship. This will be followed at around 7 pm by the service proper led by Father Owen, with the ‘ Worship Group ‘ leading the singing. We hope that you will come along to encourage us and to experience something a little different and at the end, tell us what you did and did not like.
St Mary’s Church, St Fagans Christmas Bazaar
Saturday 29 November, 11am to 1pm at Glamorgan Wanderers RFC. There will be a variety of stalls selling cakes, toys and books, and plants. There will also be refreshments, tombola, games and Father Christmas arriving at 12 midday.

The Church Hall, Rachel Close, Danescourt, CF5 2RF is available to hire to independent organisations and individuals, on a regular or one off booking basis. The main activity area provides space suitable for uses such as children’s activities, children’s parties, personal development activities, family functions and meetings.
The main hall (off a small entrance lobby) measures 15m by 6m and has plenty of natural light. The hall is accessible for wheelchair users or those with other mobility impairments and also has 4 toilets as well as a accessible toilet. Heating is by two gas fires with protective grills for safety. There is an emergency exit at the rear of the main hall.
Users of the hall have access to an assortment of chairs and tables. Those wishing to hire a bouncy castle for parties should note that the maximum dimensions allowed are 4.5m sq by 3m high.
There is a good sized kitchen which can be used for the serving of pre-prepared food and preparation and serving of hot and cold drinks. Please note the Hall does not have a separate food hygiene rating.
