As part of the Church in Wales, The Garth Ministry Area is committed to fostering an environment where everyone is able to worship and participate in the life of the church in safety.
Safeguarding means preventing harm to children, young people, and adults at risk by protecting them from abuse or neglect. The Garth Ministry Area is committed to raising awareness of safeguarding within our Churches and working to prevent abuse or harm from occurring. Safeguarding is an integral part of its life, mission and ministry and we also seek to protect and respond well to those that have been abused.
All who work for the Church, including Clergy, employees and volunteers, are regarded as persons working in positions of trust and as such are expected to adhere to the safeguarding policy and associated procedures and practice guidance.
We have appointed a Safeguarding Officer who works to promote the wellbeing of children, young people, and adults across the churches of our Ministry Area. For full details of how safeguarding is applied, please see our published Safeguarding Policies.
If you have information about a safeguarding situation where a person is in immediate danger or requires urgent medical attention, please call the emergency services now on 999 – DO NOT DELAY. If you think that a child, young person, or adult is at risk of harm but is not in immediate danger, please call the Local Authority Social Services Department.
