The Garth Ministry Area has been helping to supporting a family of Syrian refugees through the UK government’s Community Sponsorship programme. Our churches, have been working for some time to welcome at least one Syrian family to be safely housed in Cardiff.

Whilst Covid-19 temporarily halted the programme just as we were about to receive a family, the project has now secured a rental property in anticipation of the arrival of the family but happily we have been able to offer it, on a temporary basis, to some asylum seekers in conjunction with Homes4U.

A series of events were arranged across the Ministry Area and wider, to raise funds for the project and raise awareness of what we were trying to achieve.
