Safeguarding Officers play a vital role in the life of our Ministry Area and are the first point of contact for any safeguarding issues where there is no immediate danger to adult or child.
Safeguarding means preventing harm to children and adults at risk, by protecting them from abuse or neglect. The churches across The Garth Ministry Area are committed to safeguarding as an integral part of its life, mission and ministry. We have appointed a Ministry Area Lead for Safeguarding and she can be contacted at safeguarding@garthma.wales. Our Safeguarding Officers work to promote the well being of children and adults across The Garth Ministry Area. For full details of how safeguarding is applied, please see our Safeguarding Policy. The Diocese of Llandaff also has a link to a useful Safeguarding page.
If you have information about a safeguarding situation where a child or adult is in immediate danger or requires urgent medical attention, please call the emergency services now on 999 – DO NOT DELAY. If you think that a child or adult is at risk of harm but is not in immediate danger, please call the Local Authority Social Services Department.
