Christ Church, Radyr urgently needs a new organ as the existing one is over 40 years old and is starting to fail. The cost is nearly £18,000. Can you help by donating to the ‘New Organ Fund’? It will make a huge difference to services and other events.
The current organ in Christ Church was installed over 40 years ago. It was a very good model at the time and it has given the church good service over the years. Unfortunately, the technology is now so dated that it cannot be repaired and it is starting to distort on occasions.
There is a real fear that it will shortly stop altogether, which would be a disaster for services and other events.
Fortunately, we have found a suitable (second-hand) replacement which the Ministry Area Council has agreed we can buy – with your help. The organ is only a few years old but is the latest technology and is full of capabilities. We would like to think it will last for over forty years, like the old one.
Organs like this seldom come on the market so we need to buy it now. The cost is nearly £18,000 so we are launching an urgent appeal for funds. There a number of ways you can donate – see below. Please be generous. If the amount raised exceeds the purchase price, the excess monies will used for major expenditure on the fabric or fixtures and fittings including musical instruments and audiovisual equipment in Christ Church and the New School Rooms.
