The Garth Ministry Area supports the Cardiff Foodbank. Some of our churches have weekly collections of food items for the charity and all of our churches contribute through the gifts that are given in their individual Harvest Thanksgiving services (please see Calendar for details as they will be running on different dates throughout September and October).
We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why the Foodbank provides three days of nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to then in crisis. Cardiff Foodbank part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
Over 90% of the food distributed by foodbanks in The Trussell Trust network is donated by the public – that’s why your food donations are absolutely vital to our ability to give everyone referred to us a balanced and nutritious three day supply of food. In 2022/23, food banks in the Trussell Trust’s network provided 2,986,203 three-day emergency food supplies and support to UK people in crisis. Of these, 1,139,553 were distributed for children.
In these challenging times, it is so important that we all pull together to help others who are less fortunate then ourselves. Your ongoing support is much appreciated.
