Well, Garth Bear has had a very busy time of it since the last edition of Joyful Noise! Not only has he been out and about in South Wales, but he’s also made a lot of friends along the way. Click on the images to see the friends Garth’s made.
On Sunday 11th August, Garth Bear was blessed in St Catwg’s Church by Rev. Jenny Wigley before he started his journey around our Ministry Area. On the day, he helped with Holy Communion and spent the rest of the service, sitting on the medieval font – from here he could see everything that was going on!
After church, Garth went on a visit to Cardiff Castle, to pick a memorial rose in memory of a loved one for City Hospice. He met a dragon and needed a hot chocolate afterwards to calm his nerves! He felt that dragons were a bit big and scary.
Garth spent the rest of the week playing with Roxy the dog and helped with cleaning the house. Ruth and Andrew Davies (St Catwg’s Church, Pentych).
On Wednesday 21st August, Garth went on a trip to Llantwit Major and had lunch with Ladies Probus in Illtud’s restaurant.
On Friday 23rd August Garth went to Cowbridge. He had his picture taken outside his favourite hotel “The Bear Hotel.”
After a busy week Garth went to Illtud’s Church in Llantwit Major and had a picture taken outside church and also with the famous Celtic Stones inside. He then went to the beach and had great fun paddling and making sandcastles. Jane Rees (St Catwg’s Church, Pentyrch)
