Lent, Holy Week and Easter 2026

There are many services and events taking place over Lent, Holy Week and Easter across the Garth Ministry Area. These are a mix of more traditional services, family services, informal talks and social events. Everyone is welcome to join us.

The services and events listed below are in addition to our usual programme of services, which include Holy Eucharist Services, All Age Services, and Messy Church.

 

 

Ash Wednesday – 18 February

MA Ash Wednesday service: 7pm at St David’s Church, Groesfaen.

This will be a Sung Eucharist with ashing.

Lent Talks

Jesus at the Heart of Lent and Life

A series of reflections for Lent on the ‘I Am’ sayings of Jesus, with the help of some great paintings from across the Christian centuries and clips from recent films.

Where: Christ Church, Radyr.

When: 10am on Tuesdays 24 February, 3, 10, 17, 24 March.

 

Finding a Voice

A Lent course based on the film ‘The King’s Speech’.

Where: St Mary’s Church, St Fagans.

When: 7pm on Wednesdays 25 February, 4, 11, 18, 25 March.

 

 

Lent Lunches

Lent lunches will be held every Friday from 20 February until 27 March, at Christ Church New School Rooms from 12 noon.

The money we raise from taking time out to share soup with friends, family or colleagues is donated to Christian Aid. Come and enjoy a bowl of homemade soup, bread and cheese, tea or coffee.
